Pilgrimage

OVERVIEW

Dating as far back as the historical Buddha, pilgrimage, or Nekhor in Tibetan, is a central practice to the tradition. It allows us to invoke the blessings of the lineage as we travel to sacred sites.

Institute Support

Each pilgrimage program we offer serves in part as a fundraiser for the Institute. This allows us to offset costs for our core programming. So by joining a pilgrimage, you are also making an offering to the Institute.

Designed for Practioners

We design our pilgrimages with the practitioner, rather than tourists, in mind. What this means is that every element of our pilgrimages are curated to provide direct connection with the places and associated figures that we visit.

Indian-Tibetan Lineage

The sacred sites we visit are core to the historical development of the Indian-Tibetan Buddhist tradition. This includes, for example, the live of the Buddha, Guru Rinpoche, Milarepa and more.

Living Tradition

As opposed to visiting sites exclusively as historical monuments, we connect with the living traditions of these places, drawing connections to our life in today’s world.
